Border Buda es un proyecto cultural de tres años que se desarrolla en los espacios agrestes e intermedios de Buda. Antaño una periferia industrial, las fábricas vacías y los rincones indómitos de Buda resultan inquietantes, olvidados y poco acogedores.

Pero ¿y si esta «jungla urbana» no fuera un espacio salvaje que necesita ser domesticado, como suelen presumir los promotores inmobiliarios, sino una tierra de nadie compartida, un lugar que pertenece a todos, donde los fantasmas del pasado, el presente y el futuro colisionan?

En «La mujer que creía ser un planeta»*, artistas, arquitectos, escritores, investigadores, radioastas y activistas especulan sobre los posibles futuros de Buda a través de los numerosos fantasmas que la habitan. «La mujer que creía ser un planeta» es también el título de un relato corto de Vandana Singh (2008).

Con trabajo y contribuciones de Agency, Beverly Buchanan, Bouba Touré & Raphaël Grisey, Cauleen Smith, Elia Castino, Ermias Kifleyesus, Ezra Veldhuis & Bosse Provoost, Fabiola Burgos Labra, Jota Mombaça, Katja Mater, Laura Muyldermans & Bart Leo Decroos, Liesbeth Henderickx, Lucile Desamory, Mourad Ben Amor & Fairuz Ghammam, Ola Hassanain, Radio Fantôme, Sarah Smolders, Tomoko Hojo y TRANSPORT.

La segunda y última edición, La mujer que pensaba que era un planeta, fue comisariada por Els Silvrants-Barclay y tuvo lugar el fin de semana del 20 al 22 de junio de 2025.

Border Buda is a three-year cultural project unfolding in Buda’s wild, in-between spaces. Once an industrial outskirts, Buda’s empty factories and untamed corners feel eerie, forgotten, and unwelcoming.

But what if this ‘urban jungle’ isn’t a wild space in need of taming, as real estate developers so often presume, but rather a shared nomansland - a place that belongs to everyone, where past, present, and future ghosts collide?

In The Woman Who Thought She Was a Planet*, artists, architects, writers, researchers, radio makers and activists speculate on possible futures for Buda through the many ghosts that inhabit it. The Woman Who Thought She Was a Planet is also the title of a short story by Vandana Singh (2008).
