Marie Cloquet exhibition statement: “Roger and Hilda Matthys-Colle collected during the second
half of the twentieth century with a special focus on innovative artistic
attitudes. Their gaze was mainly directed abroad, where they bought work in
cities such as Paris, New York, and Düsseldorf from artists whose oeuvres were
in full development at the time. They often did this very shortly after the
creation of the works of art. As a result, the collection includes early
masterpieces by artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Liechtenstein, and Cy Twombly.
My work harbors a fundamental fascination with the
elementary, the essential equipment of human existence. On the other hand, I
just as often use the multitude of remnants or surpluses to map out a human
condition. Give me an answer likes to highlight the studio as a place of
creation, evolution, and revolution. It seems to me a favorable environment for
Kelley's work, which seems to consist of a permanent development and the
Matthys-Colle Collection, which also has a close relationship with creation as
a means of innovation, in dialogue with your artwork.”

Statement de la exposición, Marie Cloquet: “Roger e Hilda Matthys-Colle recopilaron durante la segunda
mitad del siglo XX con especial atención a las actitudes artísticas
innovadoras. Su mirada se dirigió principalmente al extranjero, donde compraron
obras en ciudades como París, Nueva York y Düsseldorf de artistas cuyas obras
estaban en pleno desarrollo en ese momento. A menudo lo hacían poco después de
la creación de las obras de arte. Como resultado, la colección incluye obras
maestras tempranas de artistas como Andy Warhol, Roy Liechtenstein y Cy
Twombly.
Mi trabajo alberga una fascinación fundamental por lo
elemental y esencial de la existencia humana. Por otro lado, con la misma
